Spice Container I, 1995
Beadwork, 7" x 2.5" x 2.5"

Permanent Collection
The Jewish Museum, New York
Currently on exhibit, through Aug. 5, 2001.

"My intent was to reflect Jewish tradition while making a contemporary statement. The piece is handwoven in two strips on a bead loom, using a warp of brass wire and a weft of Japanese delica beads on kevlar thread. The strips were then manipulated to form the architectural tower, so typical of medieval European havdalah spice containers. My preliminary design work was a paper sculpture model."
