Torah mantles

Coopering, an ancient wood technique mentioned in the Bible, is used to create this Torah case. It is enhanced with a decorative band of stitchery and beadwork that includes the first and last words of the Torah. When placed in juxtaposition, the last letter of the Torah, "lamed," and its first letter, "bet," spell the Hebrew word, "Lav,"..."Heart," and this is how we are to revere the Torah, with all our heart and soul.

See a detail of the stitchery.
